I drove by at 10:25a today, not pumping.  Sometimes when I drive by it's pumping, sometimes not.

Was being flared again last week after the last fracking plug was drilled out, then everyone disappeared off of the site. Pump was not running yestrday and no one was on the site. Including security.

Perhaps they shut it in until they can get a liquids pipeline to hook up to it.  If there aren't any condensate tanks on site then it isn't producing.

Anything new happening with this well?  Has anyone heard anything?

Finally some good news. Last week on 570 am, and later in print Chesapeake stated that the Geatches well had done vey well and will be productive, and that they are very happy with the wells results. Chesapeake reported taking 793 BBL's of oil out the well last year while getting it ready for production. As we have suspected, the fact that there is not a pipleline present at the well site to carry the oil, Chesapeake is waiting for it to be built to reduce transport costs (lost profit). The natural gas is producing very well, but as in most cases in our area, the low prices of natural gas on the market has them playing the waiting game, and not sending it to market.

 

In complete reversal of the always positive Marcus Grayson's comments here and elsewhere. The Geatches well produced 793 bbls of oil in the brine flowback removal in the preparation of this well in 2011. The well was not in in production in 2011, The amount of oil flowback in this process is considered very good news in pre production numbers. 

There have beeen numerous, Intentionally misleading and negative comments by Grayson, I know he is in the oil business, but I find him to be disingenuous in his comments, and wonder if it is only to get some odd amusement out of it, or for personal profit. Either way, I will discount any and all information from him as he has shown himself to be untrustworthy. 

 

I have attached a copy of the ODNR report on the production of the wells in our area.

Disingenuous?  Hell, I'm the only person who has made it clear that I work in the industry and that my perspective comes not from the emotional standpoint of a landowner but rather the cold (and not terribly endearing) position of an industry insider who sees raw numbers.  I've repeatedly stated that I hope my pessimism is dead wrong.  I desperately want this thing to work but simply willing it to is not enough.  I see 79 days with no production and I have concerns.  I see Carroll county wells making fewer liquids than we were promised and I question if CHK is choking production or if they really haven't gotten the frack formula right yet.  There's more to this business than just putting holes in the ground and pumping out money.  I simply wished people would just slow down a bit and focus on the real numbers and infrastructure rather than the dreams that CHK sells.  This nitwit president could ruin our business--and the hopes of every Ohio landowner--pretty easily.  I am a pessimist because there is always a black swan out there waiting to change the landscape.  So pardon me for not having eternal optimism.  I worked through some tough markets and low nat gas prices aren't exactly helping the long term stability of some of these plays.

ODNR states the permit was issued on May 5, 2011.

It is one year later and this well is still not listed as "PRODUCING" by ODNR.
