information minefield out there- be aware

WARNING- I do not wish to be excessively judgmental but the quanitity of bad of misinformation posted and communicated regarding the Marcellus  Gas Resource is getting out of hand. Of course its big $$ and, emotional and some start an idea that advances to a rumor to a fact, easily, but it is harmful.

 

RE example, post regarding international shale potential on a popular gas lease forum.

Someone named  Cicero. Seems he thinks there is so much shale the world around prices will be poor forever- fact much gas does not have commercial legitimacy, even many new US plays are NOT panning out. But yes it is a world gas game changer.

2.Next he can’t imagine the US can increase industrial use much, as we have exported our manufacturing.  FALSE, US Manufacturing Output hit records just the last few months, the MEDIA feeds the masses what they want to hear. Of course it will go up. US truck/auto use will explode, just takes 3-6 yrs. We just used record amts for electricity generation. s

3. ) US N-gas industrial use is about 1/3rd of our N-gas use NOW!!!

 

Absurd to think we won’t use this great resource. I think US use last peaked in the 70s, it hit new use highs in 2011.

 

Very little objectivity out there. Equitable Resources Pittsburgh has a PPT out showing too high of maturity in SE Broome County Ny – yet near no one there acknowledges it. there is mass speculation in S NY, yet anyone who has research or visited wit the NY State geologists, know only  small portion is even prospective, not even proven.

 

Parts of NE PA are very good, parets of SW, very good, lots of other PA, just doesn’t have the commercial potential especially with so many US new plays popping up with better econimics.\

 

Good luck out there, it iss a mine field at this point.
