Has anyone else had this happen? The title to my property had no deficits (according to the Cambridge Office). I called Amegy bank today to see when the check would be sent and I was told that it was “cancelled per land department directive”.
I called Shell in Cambridge and they have no idea what is going on. Any thoughts?

Permalink Reply by bo boboski on May 21, 2012 at 1:16pm We & our neighbors have been told by calls from Houston that we will be paid for our leases that were recorded last Oct. but it could be months, instead of weeks! we are planning on waiting, hoping that since Shell is a big dog, that when the time comes, they"ll send about 12 rigs in here at once, 6/8 wells per pad, build the cracker plant, buy out some of the smaller players wanting or needing to flip, Get them royalties flowing, and make it worth our wait. If not, there"s only gonna be 4 years left till they owe the bonus $$$ again!

Permalink Reply by ANONOMOUS! CUZ I CAN BE! on May 21, 2012 at 7:22am Now here is a thought. Why would the news papers print anything possibly/remotely detrimental to the county? Look at the controlling interests of the Jeffersonian and see the promince of their board here in the county. Last week's Jeff headlines read an estimated $400,000 in deed recordings in the first 3 months of the year. Thats a pace of over 1million in 2012 alone. If anyone could get a straight answer of dates or answers to phone calls emails etc, I think we would all feel a little better. Bout ready to give up and find a new company.

AboutWhat makes this site so great? Well, I think it's the fact that, quite frankly, we all have a lot at stake in this thing they call shale.
