Hi everyone,
I'm a reporter with the Media Network of Central Ohio (www.centralohio.com). We're a group of 10 community newspapers, a couple of which are right on the cusp of the Utica/Pt Pleasant development and since this is becoming a statewide issue readers across the group are interested.
As the groups de facto shale reporter, I'm traveling to western Pennsylvania to talk with people who have been in the middle of this for a few years now. I'm looking for volunteers!
I would like to meet with landowners who have entered into leases to talk about how oil/gas development has impacted their lives, good or bad. The purpose is so that we in Ohio can know what to get excited about and what to be careful of. A photographer and I will be around Beaver Co. on Wednesday the 13th. I'll be in Washington Co the following day. If anyone would like to talk with me then, message me on here, email me at razimmer@centralohio.com or call at (740) 328-8830.
Even if you don't want to meet with me, any tips or recommendations (people to talk with, shale-related places to see, where to eat lunch, etc.) would be welcome.
Thanks!
Russ Zimmer

Try the McRoberts family in Darlington Twp, Beaver County. They are in a lawsuit that I read about in Beaver County. Seems they are saying that their leases from O&G are illegal but Chesapeake is going to drill on their land anyway. I read about it in the Farm and Dairy.
Oh, and I also read something about them not listening to the Township when they sent them a Cease and Desist Order.
Thanks, Frank
Anybody else? Last chance!
Thanks Jason!

AboutWhat makes this site so great? Well, I think it's the fact that, quite frankly, we all have a lot at stake in this thing they call shale. But beyond that, this site is made up of individuals who have worked hard for that little yard we call home. Or, that farm on which blood, sweat and tears have fallen. [ Read More ] |
