  Lisa, first of all you will not get royalties if you land is not leased. Secondly the depth of the well they are drilling has a bearing upon it as well as direction if it is a horizontal well.

  I will assume you are in Ohio where to drill into say a Clinton Formation it requires a 20 acre tract of land so it is possible that only the owner of the 20 acres will get anything.  It could be a well that is unitized with other property as well. 

 Not trying to be nibby but if you would put your proximity in here some one will look for the permit for the well which will spell out the story better.

Thanks for the info. We are leased. It is the davis well on scio rd in carrollton.

Hi,
Get out a map and find north. Now see if you are north west or south east of this well. If you are than at some point you have a good shot in getting into a unit.
So many can be right across the street from a well and not be included.
