I brought this over to the main site since we might have someone with the knowledge to answer some questions about it.
My wife came across this on Rt 40- and didn't know what they were doing. I wonder as to what size is really determined as far as say a path way of width and to how far this echo would be expanded to in determining what the formations would look like?
Old US 40 is east to west so I guess what I am asking is how far north and how far south would you think these results would be applied to? Any Idea? Jodi ya think ya might throw this in the main body to get some input from perhaps someone who would have an idea?

BILLY IT IS MY UNDERSTANDING FROM A MEETING WITH A SESMIC COMPANY THAT THE READINGS GO OUT ATLEAST ONE MILE AND DEGRADE AS THEY GO OUT. I HAVE HAD DEALINGS WITH THEM AND THEY WILL TEST ROADS WITHOUT THE OWNER OF THE RIGHTS APPROVAL. THE DEEDS CALL TO THE CENTER LINE OF A ROAD AND THE ROADS JUST HAVE A SURFACE RIGHT OF WAY. SO THEY ARE TAKING READINGS WHERE LAND OWNERS HAVE NOT GIVEN THEM PERMISSION TO TEST. THEY ALSO DO NOT CLEAN UP AND LEAVE YOUR PROPERTY AS THEY FOUND IT. MY EXPEREINCE IS IN FAYETTE COUNTY PA. IN MY OPINION THEY LIE AND HAVE NO REGARD TO LANDOWNERS RIGHTS. THEY HAVE TRASHED MY LAND AND KEEPING MAKING POOR EXCUSES WHY THEY CAN NOT CLEAN IT UP. THEY ARE NOT YOUR FREIND AND I AM SURE SOMEONE WILL COME BACK WITH A NEGATIVE COMMENT ABOUT WHAT I SAY.
Boy are you stupid Donald... I"M KIDDING, just wanted to make you feel justified in your persecution complex! It was a joke Donald, relax.
Whether or not the state, county or township can allow the seismic crews to utilize the surface of their road right of way or easement would be a function of the right of way or easement grant that each of the adjoining landowners gave the appropriate governmental agency. I would seriously doubt that the ROW or easement grant doled out such rights. There are already several court cases on record which have held that the state, county or township cannot allow pipeline companies to lay pipeline in the ditches that run along their roads as their original grant from the landowners did not include those rights. Pipelines have had to be dug up as a result.

AboutWhat makes this site so great? Well, I think it's the fact that, quite frankly, we all have a lot at stake in this thing they call shale. But beyond that, this site is made up of individuals who have worked hard for that little yard we call home. Or, that farm on which blood, sweat and tears have fallen. [ Read More ] |

Will do, I live 3.5 miles due north of US 40 on the county line.
