A little early, but I'll be out of the loop for a few days. CHK has been very busy with new leases, assigned leases and extended leases. Some times more than 250 per day. Added Calmitch unit. Amended Zaleski North and Katzenstein South units.

Wayne,
FYI, The Morgan 01-074 Unit in Armena Twp. has been amended and now consists of 621.16 acres running farther north. Thanks for all your updates and hard work!
Hi Wayne,
Thank you for making this map possible, it is great to see it updated each week. I am not sure where the information for the units come from but I see on Landex that Talisman has added several new units, Lombardo and Carrington for example. They do not appear "filled in" on the google earth map and I was wondering why, my guess is that maybe that information was not included when Talisman filed the unit declaration? Thank you for your reply to this question. Barbara
OK, I'm back. I'll check on these and get them entered asap.
Do you have Instrument #s for these?
Hi Wayne,
I just looked them up:
Porcupine 201214167 (Orwell)
Nekoranik 201214166 (Pike)
Lombardo 201214165 (Pike)
Barbara
I looked them up and they do not include maps. I tried to "wing it" on the Lombardo unit but it's very difficult.
Why do you think they left off the maps? We happen to becluded in one of these but have no way of knowing how much land is included. It seems odd they did this, maybe it was just to tie up our leases? Just a guess. Thank you for responding and thank you for the map we love looking at it!
Wayne,
I live in Tioga County, PA. What are the basics for creating this map? Thanks.
Rich
The locations come from DEP when the permits are applied for and the units come from maps recorded in the courthouse when the unit is recorded and available through Landex. There were others talking of doing it in Tioga, but haven't heard lately.
Hi Wayne,
If the units come from Landex I was wondering why some have not been added to your map. Several weeks ago Talisman filed units for Lombardo and Carrington (also known as Porcupine) on Landex but they never showed on the Earth map. You have done a great job with this map, thank you, it is so much fun to see it updated each week! Barbara
TLM did not include a map of the unit in the recorded document.
Wayne and Barbara
This is an extension of a distressing and worrying behavioral pattern for Talisman. Commencing some time last year they ceased to indicate, on their unit declarations, the number of acres in the unit. Since this is absolutely critical information for royalty owners, I had been using their maps, scaling off of the map to come up with (at least an approximation of) the overall unit size.
NOW THIS!!
Without their providing overall unit size, and without even a map, Talisman royalty owners are now flying completely blind. Talisman, on their royalty owner reports, gives royalty owners only their percentage participation in the unit. Without knowing the overall unit size there is no way for royalty owners with expiring leases to learn, to compute, whether all of their land has been unitized. I mean, sure, you could just ask. Then they say "yes". Then where are you?? There is also no way to know if you are being paid properly each month. To know that you must know how many of your acres are in the unit . . . not a percentage, the actual hard number of acres.
Without knowing the unit size overall there is absolutely no way for us to check up on Talisman!!! You need to know your percentage participation AND the overall unit size in order to compute the number of acres of your land in any unit. When they deny access to that information, and now even to a map, there is no way to know if you are being dealt with on the up and up.

AboutWhat makes this site so great? Well, I think it's the fact that, quite frankly, we all have a lot at stake in this thing they call shale. But beyond that, this site is made up of individuals who have worked hard for that little yard we call home. Or, that farm on which blood, sweat and tears have fallen. [ Read More ] |
