Psychology of Oil and Gas lease negotiations

I ran across a web site that should be very helpful to landowners.  Although it comes from another state, the basic thrust of the presentation is applicable everywhere:

Landowner = negotiator = price maker not taker

Too often, the landowner wants to know the producer's price - instead of being the "Price Maker"

When we sitdown to negotiate the lease, We'll start with this presentation and go thru it point by point. No hurry cause like the power point states Take your time, because your going to be partners for a long time.
