As we have seen, the Marcellus shale drilling success has lead to an over-supply of natural gas and a depressed price.

The driller's answer was - go to the wet gas Utica areas to capitalize on the higher value of natural gas liquids mainly ethane. Now this success has lead to an over-supply of ethane and the price of ethane is now less than the equivalent methane. The ethane cannot be left in the gas going into the pipeline because it contains more BTUs than methane (1070 vs approx 1025) and that would raise the value too close to the limit pipelines allow - 1100 BTU.

The answer may be to shut-in some Utica wells and return to the dry gas areas, but wait there is an over-supply of gas. What's needed is more useage, but that is going to take time and even then there's such an over-supply that prices are not going to change much for a long time.

The drillers are between a rock and a hard place.

unVERAfied...Jack, put down your finger. It's not nice to point.

Don't you have ANY manners? WHAT DID she do to you! You are all raving like you PRESENTLY are about DUX...

WOW...you all are so easily fired up WHEN there is something OUT-OF-YOUR-CONTROL!

CHECK MATE.

Please do ignore me. I've given my evidence and can show those who are open and have the physical evidence and documents.

Vera, evidence from times online is evidence of your blindness to reality. When Bush was president the times used to love to publish the number of troop deaths weekly, four years ago that suddenly ended. Do some research and see what those numbers are now, or is it ok because the democrats have control? Please keep reading Pravda and tell us the facts. Fact: there is a newly drilled well 1000' from my front door. No headaches, no joint pain, and no nose bleeds. My water is not on fire and the trees are still green. The birds still chirp and deer are still in my yard daily. My only side effect is slight nausea when I get sucked into troll land and listen to fellow countrymen buy into propaganda. Your environmental concerns are noted but compleatly misguided. No one is more concerned about their environment as the individual property owners, if you are one you should know that.
If you are arguing your point because you believe in the "common good", or you disagree with private property ownership please make that compleatly clear. Don't hide behind environmentalism to spread communism. If you are truly a enviromentalist let's discuss this further, we can hang out by my tire fire overlooking the gas well. I love to listen to what you believe I should do with my property.

I'll tell ya what Vera, you sure can throw the f-bomb around!!!

On & on & on...this is not 'G/O related'...how dare you stray from the strict GMS regulations, rules, & restrictions (GMS has '3 R's', see? - VERY educational...sometimes yes, sometimes no.... BUT you CAN LEARN if you willing & determined to do so. Just a piece of advice...

I light it with used motor oil, you know recycling.

And you who complain of water quality all have evidence that it was tested before drilling began and certified to be pure? Many wells are not as I'm sure you know. Many people jump on the bandwagon of anti-frack for the simple reason of getting compensation based on well water that was already polluted when the water well was drilled.

Hi Kelly Can you pls advise the ODNR proposal referenced in the below quote copied from its following link “Under the ODNR proposal, drill cuttings and brine could be classified by the state as naturally occurring radioactive materials, or NORM. Such materials would not be required to be tested for radioactivity and could remain on site at a horizontal-drilling well pad or could be shipped for disposal in any of Ohio's 39 licensed municipal solid waste landfills.” http://www.ohio.com/blogs/drilling/ohio-utica-shale-1.291290/radioa... Hi All

The cost of “green” energy is much higher than fossil fuels so rather than supporting “green” R&D in order to make “green” energy  competitive,  the ‘greenies” are trying to limit the supply of fossil fuels using their misinformation in re: manmade global warming and fracking.  We need to use our fossil fuels now and invest in “green”R&D for the future

Also last week the WSJ had a story titled “Bjorn Lomborg: Climate-Change Misdirection” in which Lomborg stated the need for “green” R&D now

Thx a lot
