We have been unable to find much information about DUX Petroleum LLC, a company offering to lease land in Washington County, Ohio.

It occurred to us that if we asked members of gomarcellusshale to help search, together we could learn more.

Please help search and post what ever you find.

The website for DUX Petroleum LLC is: http://duxpetro.com/ but there are no links of any kind - no telephone number or address, no "about us" links or any other information.

A search on corporationwiki.com lead to this link:

http://www.corporationwiki.com/Unknown/Unknown/dux-petroleum-limite...

A search on bizapedia.com came up with this link:

http://www.bizapedia.com/tx/DUX-PETROLEUM-LIMITED-LIABILITY-COMPANY...

From them we learned that:

DUX Petroleum LLC was founded 10/25/12

It has a single member: Adam Popejoy

Its principle address is: 4403 48th St., Lubbock, TX 79414-3601

Because DUX Petroleum LLC is so new there is very little information about it. The only option may be to search for more information about Adam Popejoy and any of the companies he is associated with,

Please post anything you learn.

Dux is the largest lease holder in Washington County at around 40,000 acres. Sure darn doesnt sound like a scammer to me! Even if they were, they have paid the most in the county and we should be thanking this organization for bringing high prices to the area and following through with their commitments thus far. My family has been very happy with their timing pf payment and the politeness of their landmen. Our attorney said their lease was the best lease he had seen in the past 4 years too!

Maybe DUX is really C/X Energy & HalCON?

Beware of people like Drill Baby who may be shills for DUX. The search results on DUX should be enough to scare the hell out of you. Markus, maintain your skepticism. Malinda you are a new poster which means you do not have much of a track record on the site. Markus, you make a good  point that a lease may look good but if the lessee has insufficient assets to pay, it is worthless. . Malinda, who is the attorney that said DUX has a great lease. If he is also advising you to sign with DUX, I would want to know his name to protect other unsuspecting members of the public. Do NOT sign with DUX until you have detailed financials about this entity. Until then DUX SUCKS! Finally, Malinda how do you know how many acres that DUX has leased in Washington Twp? If a deal looks too good to be true, it probably is too good to be true. Remember even a few investors in Ponzi schemes make money in the beginning. This is not a Ponzi scheme but my warnings still hold.

They sent us a news letter of the status of the county and when to expect their new website for news and updates and to thank us for leasing with them. Good points though we never looked at them like that.

Malinda says DUX has leased more acres than anyone else in Washington County. That is obviously very doubtful. A search of e-facts reveals that 316 well permits have been issued in Washington County Pa. since January 1, 2012. Range Resources has by far the llargest number of permits! How many does DUX have? ZERO! Therefore they must be at best a flipper. If they are a flipper they need to sell or assign your lease for more than they paid you. Now why should Range Resources or any other legitimate O&G company pay a middleman a sum higher than what they could lease from you directly?? Where are the financials on this company?? I guess DrillBABY, when you can't answer legitimate questions, your only response is to hurl insults?? Finally why would anyone sign with an unknown company that was founded 10/25/12 and appears to be a one man operation?? See prior posts by others to this thread!!

I did a simple e-search in the Washington Co OHIO recorder's office and found not one DUX assignment or anything. DUX has no owner number with ODNR. DrillBABBY, I could care less about your so called lease or dealings. I actually hope it all works out as it is good for the area. Though, it is offensive that you pray on people's emotions instead of dealing in facts and helping folks on these boards understand the potential risks. You have still failed to answer my simple question. What is the recourse when DUX fails to pay? What does your attorney tell you will occur if they don't pay?

Samuel,

This thread refers to Washington County, Ohio NOT Washington County, PA.

However, your statements need to be carefully considered as DUX does not have a track record of upfront business dealings.  To the fact that they have a great lease, yes, leases can be written well--it always remains how well the oil and gas company lives up to the terms of that lease.  Unfortunately not all companies are as good as their word or as good as there written word.

Seems as if there has been a bit of slamming of DUX in this thread. I am not in no way defending DUX but I do believe they should have the right to self defense. I therefor request anyone that has contact with DUX to invite them into GOMS into this thread so that they may be given a chance to defend themselves.

The world might not be fair but we as humans change the face of this world.

Billy: Questions have been posed and no answers. Some have researched DUX and the results have been scary! Malinda and Drill BABY provide no answers. Your posts are generally thoughtful. There are too many good companies with long track records, sound financials, and access to loads of capital. On the other hand, there is DUX.

Every company started out small I'd like to point out. You might consider not all are happy with their dealings with the big boys as well.

They have not responded to the accusations here? Come on this is not a witch hunt, But even so if they were to respond as evidenced by what has been said here credibility would be hard to earn as they have been tried in a internet court room.

This all started with a simple question that asked what would happen if DUX did not pay? That was it. The thought that this could happen knocked DrillBABBY off the rocker and he became DUX's greatest spokesman. Now we learn that they can indeed not pay with little to no recourse. It makes no difference to me. Just took DrillBABBY a lot of hot air to finally admit it.
