I have a question regarding this map. If a well loops slightly onto our unit, but the majority extends into another unit from the pad, do we get royalties on that well as well as the one that extends directly through our unit? We are Shores NW and have not begun receiving royalty checks yet, but really wondering how many wells we'll be getting paid on. Chesapeake doesn't communicate with us often.
You only get royalities from a well in your unit. The map is not accurate enough to tell for sure where the well bore actually is. Their story is that even though in some cases they loop back into another unit with the bore hole to enable them to enter the Marcellus once they enter the unit boundary, that part is not fracked, so doesn't produce.
Again, much thanks.
Just reporting that the Loomis and Beaumont Schaunt wells seem to be out of place. (Stevens Twp) Is the Floydie going to be 4 units from that single well pad? or am I missing a pin?
Thank you so much for all your hard work!!!
What you might be looking at isn't a gross misrepresentation of the unit boundaries and well pad location but, rather, units to be created by "offset wells" from a pad on an adjoining property. States have various requirements, or remain silent, for this practice. I don't have specific knowledge of the Floydie location but this would be my guess pending facts to the contrary. You can find a discussion on offset wells elsewhere on this site but it doesn't offer much clarification.
The Loomis site marked on the map was the original Erosion & Sedimentation permit. I don't know why it was that far from their eventual pads. I've marked the 2 Loomis Stone Energy pads and CHK's Yvonne and Cook pads, but since I don't follow Susquehanna unit declarations, I don't know unit status. The Northern Loomis site was issued a permit to drill deeper on Jan 10, 2013.
The Beaumont Schaunt site is where DEP has it on their map.
Yes, the 4 Floydie units are already recorded. If you click anywhere on the unit, it shows name, acreage, effective date, and instrument #.
.Thanks for the input.
The Beaumont Schaunt site is where DEP has it on their map.
That's all there is right now the pad that can be seen in that area is west of it and has many names depending on where you look. On Wayne map its GREENZWEIG (R PAD)...... Landext has it as
BROMLEY SWISHER UNIT DECLARATION OF POOLING
DEP site has the well as .....SWISHER 1H
This maybe the pad you think is Beaumont Schaunt...........
The site marked Greenzweig U and Beaumont Schaunt apparently is only a permit as of yet and will be the pad for the next production unit to the East.

AboutWhat makes this site so great? Well, I think it's the fact that, quite frankly, we all have a lot at stake in this thing they call shale. But beyond that, this site is made up of individuals who have worked hard for that little yard we call home. Or, that farm on which blood, sweat and tears have fallen. [ Read More ] |
