Permalink Reply by Amy Litman on August 16, 2013 at 1:59am I am in Monroe County and leased my rights for pennies about 3 1/2 years ago because they used a group tactic on us and said if one hits we all do. It makes me sick how they did some of us then. Should be something that can be done about it.

Permalink Reply by Jeff Polara on August 16, 2013 at 2:47am Did you have an attorney look into it. There might be fraud in the lease that you can contest. I'm sure Judges would tend to side with the poor landowner than these sharks. There should be a clause that they have so much time to drill or the lease is void. As long as you did not sell all your mineral rights you might be ok.

Permalink Reply by The Hiker on August 19, 2013 at 11:06am Freebird and Jeff: Antero initially offered $1000/acre for 4000 acres worth of land (several landowners in Noble county) to sign an addendum to an old Beck lease that was purchased by XTO. It's a long story....but they finally offered $3000/acre to these people and most, if not all of them signed. There is probably more money on the table available to "correct" your old leases if you can stand to wait them out.

Permalink Reply by Jeff Polara on August 19, 2013 at 11:22am We might have met. Do you live down there? I live up North. Post after yours claims some folks got 3000 per acre on a HBP lease addendum. I think $1000 is way to low. Are you off of RT 145?

Permalink Reply by The Hiker on August 19, 2013 at 1:20pm The Beck/XTO leases I refer to were concentrated in Marion Township/Noble County, although there was some acreage in the purchase to the north and south of this township, all in Noble County. Marion is contiguous to Seneca Township/Monroe County where the 8000 - 8800 BOE wells are located that Antero just announced. One might suppose that this had something to do with the $3000 offer. lol. However, Antero has permitted a well (Loraditch) a few miles east of these wells into Monroe County, looking for (or confirming) the extent of the wet Utica to the east. Who knows? It may extend to Lewisville, but they'll never tell. Yes, I live in the "area", but not off RT 145.

| AboutWhat makes this site so great? Well, I think it's the fact that, quite frankly, we all have a lot at stake in this thing they call shale. But beyond that, this site is made up of individuals who have worked hard for that little yard we call home. Or, that farm on which blood, sweat and tears have fallen. [ Read More ] | Links |
