Hi! I just found this site and I am so happy that I did. My dad signed a lease for his 49 acres in North Beaver, but we don't know what is going on with the progress down there for we live out of state. Could anyone fill me in on the progress in North Beaver? My dad doesn't have a computer, and he doesn't seem to think he will ever see any royalties from all this. He signed in 2010 with East which is now Shell. Thank you for any help that you can give us!

Where is N Beaver?  What county and state?

In Lawrence County, PA.
I'm sorry. I'm new to the site, and thought I was posting in the Lawrence County, PA group.

Thats what I thought but needed to be sure. You are actually in a good area. Both Shell and Hilcorp are drilling in the area and a new pipeline will be going in shortly.  Who did he sign with and how long ago? In that area, the Utica Shale has wet gas, which is worth more than dry gas. Also, that area will have some potential for Marcellus and Upper Devonian.

It may be several years before you are placed in a unit and getting royalties but they will come.  Hope you dad is young enough and healthy enough to enjoy those benefits

PS this is the general discussion page but that is no big deal.  Welcome to GMS

Thank you so much for your reply. He signed with East (now Shell) back in 2010.

Shell has a well pad south called the Patterson near Darlington and it has three wells on it. They also have  a pad just south of Mt Jackson off of 551 with a couple of wells. Could be more drilling in the next couple of years as soon as the new pipe is laid.

Start talking to a financial planner now before the royalties start.

Thank you!
