10,573' lateral in Seneca Township, Noble County.   Well #34121243960100.   This one runs right next to NBL 16.   Seneca is turning out to be quite the hot spot.

Consol better have their act together to execute this one. There are few things worse than being 500 or 1000 feet  from total depth on a lateral and then getting the drill string stuck. Things can and do go from bad to worse and then hopeless in the blink of an eye.

I wondered why Consol was taking so long to drill this one because it seems the rig has been there for months.  Maybe they are having some problems.   I'm sure Antero is watching it closely before they dive in to their long one.

Given this discussion, why is it so desirable to drill such long laterals?   More gas, lower cost, fewer wells....what?   Is this the trend for the future?

could be lower costs.......less wells, less pads etc..........also they may need some long ones to get underneath the state land around all the watershed lakes.

It's taken consol almost a year to drill/frack/flare/etc a well in our area. They're REALLY slow and secretive. Don't hold your breath waiting for answers on this one.

What area are you in, JR? Thanks!

Tuscawaras Co, OH. They have thousands of acres in our area. I've been following the industry about 2.5 years. Not sure they have the best handle on the technical side of O&G drilling, but they've been a class operation in our community.
