We had to sign a "new" lease agreement with Chesapeake in October 2012, because Enervest sold them the "deep" rights. The land man said they should be drilling in 2013, its been quiet around here. Any one have info on what might have happened, low profits, lack of others signing on, or not great ground for drilling?

I am like you, there doesn't seem to be much going on in Stark County. I am in the Louisville area and I was told back in 2012 that Envervest and CHK was going to drill on my farm in Dec. 2012. They tested all the neighbor water wells, staked off a well pad, and the only drilling they did was to drill down and check the water level. Then nothing. My daughter has a friend that works for CHK and he told her they have taken off allot of well pad locations for now but the one on my farm is still list to be drilled but he didn't know when. I heard rumors that 2014 they will drill some wells in Stark County and my guess if they are good, then we will see more activity. I have also heard rumors that it will be another 10 years till they drill actively in Stark County. So I guess no one knows for sure. I don't even think Enervest or CHK know.
Thanks David. We are about a half mile west and north of Carroll county, down in the corner. Hope full that maybe when I'm "really" retired to have some income from this. Hoped for sooner then later.

But beyond that, this site is made up of individuals who have worked hard for that little yard we call home. Or, that farm on which blood, sweat and tears have fallen. [ Read More ] |
