utica question

they are  making noises around here about Utica shale and another round of leases  ;;; my question is if in your first round of leases you signed with someone ;;;;and did not specify Marcellus only ;;; can you  lease to another company the Utica  ,or does  the people you leased with own all the gas rights ;;; in our defense we leased when they first started leasing and not much was known we certainly didn't know what to ask and what exactly to have in the lease believe me if we had it to do over it would be different ;;;; thanks to anyone  that can help ;;;;;

Unless your lease specific what strata the company is limited to or what depths they are permitted, then the lease is considered everything to the center of the earth.

If you signed early and they haven't drilled, maybe the lease will expire soon and you get another shot at it.
