PDC's Palmer well, Center Township, Morgan County.....Blow Out???

Does any one know any details about this Blow Out?....I understand it got away from PDC with more pressure than they had expected????...... Which one of the 3 wells on the pad was involved?? How many(2-3?) blow outs does that make for Western Washington County/Eastern Morgan County??... Magnum Hunter had one also I believe?........ What is going on in this area????

Don't know much about it, but heard the spill over ran containment.  Hopefully they hit a spindletopesque well.

Notice the comments at the end of the Dispatch article. This well wasn't at the time being fracked! Even the article said "in preparation for fracking" ...as the EPA said they hit a pocket of gas..happens in conventional drilling also.

Being that they were doing the horizontal when they hit it, I'm thinking that's a good thing!  In verticals when they hit a pocket, they are typically intending to drill below & beyond...being in a horizontal leg means the gas pocket was contained in the strat they have targeted...this is good.  I heard 10,000psi from a local.

Whats everyone think? Will this help,or hurt exploration in this area? Maybe PDC knew what they were doing moving the condensate window farther west here in the far southern end of the play.Pressure dont seem to be a problem.

I was never fortunate enough to be on one of these new horizontal drilling teams, but I say that Morgan County is going to get hot.

There's so much going on behind the scene Bill. Watch Anadarko! Watch other formations! What Jerry James and his Farmout with CHK in the northern part of the county. Poorest in the state..... that will make it even sweeter. I have my fingers crossed for those people.
