Monroe County doing Very Well in Shale Play; Ethane Cracker on Ferro Alloys property in Salem TWP on 50 acres

The Sunday morning paper about Monroe, Belmont, and Harrison counties doing well in Shale boom.

Most interesting fact in article is the Gary well in Monroe County is producing  10 times the amount of gas over the average well gas production in the entire play.

Keep getting the word out. I have a question for you guys. Eclipse leased a lot of land in the Ohio-Lee TWp area, yet I have never heard of any of their rigs in the area.I wonder why that is?

We may have had this news in another post.   However, this article gives the bare facts and is easily understood.   Blueracer wants the cryogenic complex at Berne on the fast track so that it can be started in June and finished in August.

Edgemarc sent a company out Friday to test my pond water and othere around me. So as far as I no, they still have it .

Pardon me pa guy for this reposting, but I want those interested in Monroe Co OH to know what is happening.

This company had planned to build in WV, but obviously have changed their mind.  Anyone know the site for it?   Is it possibly the site of the former Ferro Alloys plant north of Clarington on Rt 7?  There could be approx. 50 acres there.  Article says in operation in 2019.

I was told not the Alloy plant location, but they didn't say where.   Maybe one of the coal mine sites?

I also posted this in one of the other similar threads.

Good work Den.    Yes, perhaps one of the coal mining sites would be the possibility.

Here is link I just found for info.   Apparently the environmental and site testing has begun.  If all goes well 200 permanent jobs.  Great for Monroe County.

In another forum people were saying ormet property, but most of it's in ohio twp.  There is just a few acres of ormet in salem, and I think it is mostly hillside.  Good news for monroe Co.

Yes, it is the Ferro Alloys site owned by AEP in Salem Township that is the proposed site for the cracker.  It is still a go and details are being worked out.   Comment was perhaps we will be moving dirt in a year, this from an engineer with Appalachian Resins.  Water and sewer lines would be extended to site.

All said in a meeting in Monroe County this evening that was open to public, but it was mostly elected officials and those involved in economic development in attendance.

Just sayin' I am just a member of the public.

Sorry that I missed the meeting, but that site is indeed a brownfield area that has already had a phase one environmental accessment preformed around 1990.Since it was said that it was greenfields in nature , I thought that it would be the old lock and dam site to the north. I am curious if they commited to using local workers for this site or if they commented.

I was told this some time ago and am glad that piece of land will again become a productive part of Monroe County.  My question why would they not hire local people, the other operations, Summerfield and the one SW of Lewisville, both have local people.  However specialized positions may require education not available in our work force?

More rumors of new wells on the horizon, this one not a rumor, location cited on Kraft in Green township, Monroe County.  That is Linda Kraft.  The old saying applies "We ain't  seen nothing yet".

What road is the Kraft farm on?

At the end of Green Township 379.   65 acres.  The site is established.  They are not entering by #379 but are building a road from the creek up.  Supposed to start road as soon as the brown bat time is up which is to be very soon.
