Southeast Ohio, Southwest Pennsylvania, Northwest West Virginia ?
They have a large position in Northeast Ohio for sale or joint venture the last I heard / read. Is that still true ? Or have they decided to develop it since ?
Tons of existing Clinton wells in Northeast Ohio.
Been reading about new technology for existing Clinton wells that recovers more of the oil that remains there. Any truth to that ?
Would like more details.
Can you provide ?
Permalink Reply by David Mohn on June 29, 2014 at 12:11pm There seems to be at least 3 Enervest rigs drilling in Niminshellen Twp in Stark County Ohio. This is between the Canton and Alliance area.

I don't think so.
Enervest(pvt partnerships ) & EV energy partners (public ) hve between them about 800K acres, almost all HBP, 8000clinton vert/ & a number of Knox wells (?)---the properties 4 sale were always zone specific--utica,pt pleasant, marcellus---a sale to AEP was zone & I believe the acreage commited to CHK & TOTAL JV was also zone specific---they to my knowledge have retained all rights to clinton & other zones, other than utica----Now, this is starting to get interesting !!!--u do not hve 3 rigs running unless the previous few horz/clinton test wells drilled showed BIG---I hve heard the Key to Success here is the use of a new submersible pump that is in the lateral portion of the well---these should not be expensive wells, 600k to 700K, lite clean out frac ( sand, acid, water ), maybe no frac ?---2000" to 3000" kick-out---we can be on the CUSP of a NEW ERA---hope so 4 everyone------

Permalink Reply by Craig Stull on June 29, 2014 at 3:24pm Richard, I believe the pump you are talking about is called a F.L.E.X. PUMP, and yes it is electric submersible. This pump is rather new to the industry and manufactured by BAKER HUGHS. From what I have read , O/G companies are having good success with these pumps in the North Dakota and Texas also. Does any one think these pumps could be used in a Utica well ?

AboutWhat makes this site so great? Well, I think it's the fact that, quite frankly, we all have a lot at stake in this thing they call shale. But beyond that, this site is made up of individuals who have worked hard for that little yard we call home. Or, that farm on which blood, sweat and tears have fallen. [ Read More ] |
