This fifty mile pipeline was mentioned in the discussion of the Mountain Valley Pipeline. Here is the link to the OVC pipeline, Two compressor stations, one in Monroe County near the Clarington Hub area and one at the Wetzel/Marion county line. Public meetings already being held. I was told at the meeting that 40% of the right of way has been obtained.

I walked into the meeting in Clarington and had no letter. They do advertise these meetings in the newspapers and I don't remember seeing anything that said you have to have received a letter to attend.
I checked the ad in Sunday's Wheeling paper and it said "Community meetings" and nothing about needing a letter or invitation. Did they have a lot of people attend? There were not many at Clarington.
Attended the Woodsfield meeting this eve. No letter required. Many Reps there and very helpful to those I saw. This is of course to approach their proposal which will certainly be subject to change based on the response of those on their route.
I was told the letters went to everyone within a quarter mile each side. We are fortunate to be to the side!! The line projection I saw came South near St. Rt. 26 and I missed where it passed Woodsfield and just to the West of Laings. I was in a hurry and failed to see where it met the river. I saw some names that I am sure won't agree.
Sorry if I posted wrong place.
Just forget this info.
Den,
Click on the link in the initial posting of the discussion and you will see the basic map. From what I saw at the meeting the pipeline would begin to cross the river just above Clarington probably on the old Quarto Mine property and it was said they would be drilling under the railroad. The crossing would make it run close to the new processing plant on the WV side of the Ohio River.
Also a compressor station being built on some property owned by timber company. The plat map for Switzerland TWP shows the Milton Timber Holding LLC in section 28. Looks like TWP 218 goes through the property. So that gives a fairly good location where the pipe will be running.

AboutWhat makes this site so great? Well, I think it's the fact that, quite frankly, we all have a lot at stake in this thing they call shale. But beyond that, this site is made up of individuals who have worked hard for that little yard we call home. Or, that farm on which blood, sweat and tears have fallen. [ Read More ] |
