Your right Philip. In talking with a few companies the last few weeks their trying to leave nothing untouched. Don't know if I can handle the change. I may have to move to Columbus or Cleveland for peace and quiet. Although I'm not complaining

I hope that is the case.  I hope everone that wants to be included in the township is.  But what about the space between the J. Hall wells and the Karen wells.  It looks like a pretty good chunk of land but not big enough to put in another well.  Do either of you have thoughts on this?

I was going to mention this exact spot earlier David but didn't want to ramble.  That acreage will be tough to pick up, that's one case where it wouldn't bother me to sell mineral rights.  There's no doubt there will be areas that are left untouched. It's sad but there's absolutely no way to get it all.  Maybe if the whole township was leased by one driller they could plan it out better and try to use it all, but even then there would be some that wasn't used.

I wonder if a mineral purchaser would hesitate to purchase the minerals for those parcels. They would see the same issue that we do.  Maybe they would buy it but at lower than the going rate.  I was hoping that the J. Hall would be extended to include at least some of those parcels.

They may hesitate to purchase those rights but I would just hope they would over look it but I'm sure they wouldn't . This will be interesting to see how it plays out. Maybe those parcels aren't leased but I highly doubt it.

What township are you guys in? I'm in wills, in Guernsey county. Any info on this area?

The lateral lengths would be similar to the shorter laterals on the J.Hall.

Philip,

Wouldn't these legs have to stop 500 feet short of the existing laterals on the Karen and J. Hall?  Meaning they would lose 1,000 feet.

David, good point. This actually makes a good case in favor of mandatory unitization.  The parcels in between the Karen and J.Hall should have been part of one or the other unit.

I do have thoughts on this, I have looked at it numerous times as it is so close to me.  If you look at the platmaps of both the Karen wells and the J Hall wells it would not be out of the realm of possibility for someone to put a pad close to the Western side of the Karen laterals.  From there they could skirt along the Western edge of the Karen pool and follow it right down to about inline with the Western edge of the J Hall pool and stop at the Northern side of the J Anderson pool.  On the east they could put a pad just a bit Northeast of the Eastern most Karen lateral and with the staggered ending locations of the Karen laterals they could run some short legs from the end of the Karen Pool to the edge of the J Hall pool.  And even pop a leg or two further East and go to the side of the proposed Fox-Miller Gaut pool when Eclipse finally get's it straightened out.

Another great creation Philip. If you go to the west a few miles look how the Hayes laterals run right into the Pora Well pad.  I haven't looked at the actual permits but on ODNR well viewer the laterals go as far as they can. Of course these are all Eclipse wells so maybe that has something to do with it.

PDC has added a 2nd drilling rig in the Utica operations.
