I have reams of data on the production and pricing environement for the Marcellus and Utica shales and the importance of midstream infrastructure build out to the future of Henry Hub and Appalachian natural gas pricing. Currently Appalachian is over supplied and trades at a $0.50-$1.00 discount to Henry Hub. The enclosed report details a portion of information that provides context for the evolving dynamics. Please let me know if the full reports would be useful. Thanks, Pat.

Permalink Reply by searcherone on October 6, 2014 at 2:37am New presentation for MH; of general interest is page 34 showing comparison of nine Utica wells from various companies ranked on peak rate; could someone rank the same nine by lateral ft production per thousand feet; some of the bigger ones have longer laterals; however it appears MH and Eclipse has great production on shorter laterals as well as Gastar
So does that mean Monroe, Tyler and Marshall are the dry Utica sweetspots? Wetzel would be probably be included but no data from there yet.

Permalink Reply by searcherone on November 7, 2014 at 1:46am Magnum Hunter has earnings call this morning and here is the press release with plenty of info prior to call.
Of interest is three more Utica wells about ready to flow on Stalder pad in Monroe County. Also on Ormet pad in the only lateral drilled into the Utica they have encountered increased pressure about 1200 feet into the lateral. Can anyone comment on what the implication of that maybe?

Evans says MH finding costs are very low--50 cents and mcf and they (MH) can make money when gas is selling for $2 an mcf.
Permalink Reply by searcherone on January 25, 2015 at 2:21pm Well it is almost two years since I started this discussion and have not been recently adding much to it. But the one sentence in this article is quite interesting.
"Magnum Hunter is seeking partners for a joint venture on its Utica shale holdings in Ohio, with a rough value of about 350 million, said Evans."
IMHO no matter what the spin is on MH, this statement says MH is hurting; even more interesting will be who will be the joint venture partners. For me the names of those partners will speak volumes about how the O&G industry values or not values MH's acreage.

I haven't been a fan of Magnum but I found the information very interesting. The call is on Magnum's website under investor presentations.

AboutWhat makes this site so great? Well, I think it's the fact that, quite frankly, we all have a lot at stake in this thing they call shale. But beyond that, this site is made up of individuals who have worked hard for that little yard we call home. Or, that farm on which blood, sweat and tears have fallen. [ Read More ] |
