So, whaddya thing? Is the Utica a bust? Over?
or just stalled for a few weeks, months, years, a decade?
Since it is looking a bit bust this week anyway,
your opinion and .25 will not get you a cup of coffee this time.
But it would make an interesting discussion.
Of course, we JUST HAD a bust, a couple years ago,
when gas went from $14 to $2/ MCF ( or dekatherm if you insist on calling it that.)
Of course, if our bet depends on peace in the middle east , it looks like we will do ok pretty soon again.
Anyones guess at this point... whats yours?

Shon--I count 4 "busts" since beginning in the business in 1959. The one in 1987 when price supports (FERC-NGPA) for natural gas dropped, it took more than a decade to "recover" and in that decade oil fell to about $10/bbl.
Shale gas was fun, wasn't it?

There will be little or no activity until demand and prices go up.. Could be years...just too much gas available....
I am guestimating 18 months to 3 years
HOW ABOUT, NO BUST AT ALL, ONLY A DIP IN A CYCLE.
THIS IS THE BEST ROI OF ANY UNCONVENTIAL PLAY ON THE NORTH AMERICAN CONTINENT.

Proofit is what makes or breaks the bust/boom for sure.
"it will be years before the next boom, maybe not in our lifetime"
is what they said last bust, just maybe two years or three years ago too!!

AboutWhat makes this site so great? Well, I think it's the fact that, quite frankly, we all have a lot at stake in this thing they call shale. But beyond that, this site is made up of individuals who have worked hard for that little yard we call home. Or, that farm on which blood, sweat and tears have fallen. [ Read More ] |
