My family has mineral interests in the Big 192 and Big 333 well pads near Smithfield. The pads are less than 2 miles form the Mobley processing plant. Our royalty statement lists "Gas", and on a very rare occasion "Oil". There is never a listing for natural gas liquids. We were paid $1.62 for "Gas" on our last statement...no oil.
My questions are:
1. Generally speaking, are there natural gas liquids in Wetzel County?
2. How do I find out if we are or are not getting paid for natural gas liquids?
Thank you.

22 wells are Marcellus and 2 are Genesee. The royalty statement does not list BTU content.
Permalink Reply by Phillip D on June 29, 2015 at 7:04am I am involved in over 40 marcellus wells in wetzel, yes NGLs are produced. As Tim stated the NGL will be stripped out which you can see if it is by looking at the BTU, generally stripping occurs at the processing plant. Wetzel had very limited capacity to do this until Blue Racer pipeline is done which adds a dedicated 24" line to NGL. Should see a .30-.40/mcf uplift from that.
Thank you Philip. This is the kind of information that I really need.
Our royalty statements just list "Gas"...nothing is written about BTU content or any natural gas liquids.
Tim, do you get paid according to the BTU content of your gas? Or, do you get paid separately for specific NGLs?

AboutWhat makes this site so great? Well, I think it's the fact that, quite frankly, we all have a lot at stake in this thing they call shale. But beyond that, this site is made up of individuals who have worked hard for that little yard we call home. Or, that farm on which blood, sweat and tears have fallen. [ Read More ] |
