Okay so I have had O&G rights for years in Doddridge County, have had a consol lease for a while since they bought the last lease holder. Now I have a new lease from Antero to pool my acres. I look at as a new lease beacuse they are pooling and they state it is a new lease. My question is what is the average price for signing per acre now and what is a good percentage for royality. also I assume Antero is active in the West Union area or they wouldn't have sent me a new lease. I am in Pennsylvania now and am not as savy as I should be to what is going on in the area, so that is why I;m asking the questions. Any feed back would be appreciated.

Thanks Jason for the info. Do you know whne they are having an investors presentaion in the area?
they don't have investor presentations by area it is for the stockholders of the company and they usually have a presentation quarterly for their investors it not for the landowners benefit it to show investors how the company is doing and what the company is planning on doing with their money
In early May, Antero leased some very small acreage interests I own, in NE Gilmer County (south of Doddridge County) My interests are located about 10-12 miles apart. So, they leased them into 2 separate large pooled tracts. Term of lease 5 yrs. They paid me $1,800/acre just for the Marcellus zone.
This is rank wildcat, aka exploratory, acreage. No horizontal wells have, yet, been drilled anywhere in northern Gilmer County.
Nevertheless, might have gotten a bit more in the bonus. Instead pressed for - and got - NO deductions from my %age share of any future royalties for transportation, or processing of natural gas produced by any wells drilled on either tract. Also made sure the standard lease was amended so I'll also receive my share of royalties for any natural gas liquids produced. That's important because the geological trend they're trying to extent into Gilmer, is highly prospective to contain wet gas, aka gas which contains natural gas liquids like propane, butane, ethane, etc.
Good lease terms Isopatch. Glad to hear they gave them to you.

We have some land in Troy District, Gilmer Co and have received an offer from Antero. Yours is better and is good to know. Were you dealing with a landman, and if so who if I might ask?

AboutWhat makes this site so great? Well, I think it's the fact that, quite frankly, we all have a lot at stake in this thing they call shale. But beyond that, this site is made up of individuals who have worked hard for that little yard we call home. Or, that farm on which blood, sweat and tears have fallen. [ Read More ] |
