What is your question?

My question is that we have a lease from chesapek corp. and it was taken over by the PA. company and we havent been told hardly anything except there working on paperwork but that was told to me on the phone quite awhile back !! It was with the Penn. Corp. Maybe i got it backwords ?

Difficult to answer your question.

Are you asking about when your acreage may be included in a unit?

Or are you interested in selling your mineral rights?

Are you out of state?

Yes I live in OH.   I did ask and talk about selling !!  The lease is total of over 100 acers !

Tim,

You need to transfer the lease into the names of you and your siblings.

As part of Sandy Johnson's estate, if she had a lawyer, ask him how the lease transfer is progressing.

If it's as you say, you are on your own at present, you need to find a copy of the lease and follow the directions for transfer of ownership. There should be a copy of the lease in Sandy Johnson's important papers, or you can go on line to the Green County Recorders Office and do a search under Sandy Johnson's formal name or Robert E. James where a lease should be listed. You can go to the Greene County Court House and visit the Recorder's Office and they will find a copy of the lease for you.

The leases typically require you to send a certified letter, return signature required, requesting that the lease on the parcel with the previous owner's name and other info you can find on the lease such as owner number, be transferred to you and your siblings. This doesn't require a lawyer but if there is a lawyer being paid to handle Sandy's estate, they could help you.

As you may or may not know, there are people that would like to own the lease that has been left to you, so be careful of what you sign related to Oil & Gas. Anyone who has dealt in Oil & Gas could provide you with a list of the many ways O&G Companies have tried to take advantage of landowners/mineral owners, and those who show up before and after you sign a lease trying to figure out an angle to share or take your wealth.

It's a Fact Of Life in the US that a landowners potential Oil & Gas wealth is up for grabs by those who are in the know and lack the morals to resist committing theft against honest unsuspecting landowners.

Get smart fast or lose out.
