I agree with you and I'd politly say that this is a cyper Coffee shop. It's great, don't get me wrong... but it's a forum. Drilling is moving, but not move'n out. It's never to cheep to drill and tie up land. I don't think that rushing to the companies and asking for the deal is good... I mean, Ladies when was the last time you took a poor sad geek to the dance after he begged?
The key to understanding this industry is to stop thinking like a spectator and think like you are IN the business.
I own Thedrillingman.com a news paper and media format for landowners, drillers and business people.
this site is fine..but I'd also encurage ppl to learn and understand what ppl in the business know and learn to get fresh data on the biz.
I'll also ad, I think most of these maps are bs. I mean would they want ppl to know what's 10 years down the road? what if you were a land man with that info? do you want to pay 10 bucks per acre or 2,000?
I looked at the map... I'd stop looking at gas maps and ask myself, how quickly could they get a well on line? In my area we have tons of line.. so the well can become profitable right away ( can see 5 rigs from my home NOW)
but how long will it be till wells in YOUR area are make'n money???
