I am wondering if when all of the leases run out will any companies add the acres that were left out the first go round?
I was missed along with some of ny neighbors and wonder if we could be included in any renewals?
Thanks for any information.

Donna,
Depends on why you were "missed", left out.
Could be the location or size of the property.
Could be the company working the area had spent as much of it's budget in the area until there was some drilling.
Where is the property located?
Which company/companies were taking leases in your are?
Were any wells drilled near your property?
I am in Center Township, Guernsey Co. I have 9 acres. Was leased with Shell in the beginning but they cancelled. Gulfport, Eclispe, Shell. No drilling close.
Donna,
First - I know some companies have a 10 acre minimum.
Second - The further west you go there is a question as to the quality of the Utica. Appears to be a lot of activity to the SE of you in Noble.
This is still an exploratory/developmental period for companies in the Utica. As time goes on and drilling, completion and production techniques improve companies will branch out.
However, with prices being as depressed as they are I don't forsee them stepping out soon.
But, they could. Right now I think all unleased property owners are waiting to see what happens.
Thanks for your information. If all of us that was bypassed was added together it would be quite a lot. Some have as many as 50 acres. I guess I will have to be patient. Thanks again.

AboutWhat makes this site so great? Well, I think it's the fact that, quite frankly, we all have a lot at stake in this thing they call shale. But beyond that, this site is made up of individuals who have worked hard for that little yard we call home. Or, that farm on which blood, sweat and tears have fallen. [ Read More ] |
