If they would go bankrupt, how would that affect eveyones royalty checks?

It would depend upon what type of bankruptcy protection was sought.  Unless the wells become shut-in, the company and/or the court appointed receiver, would be obligated to pay royalties or risk forfeiture of the leases. Even in the event of a shut-in of the welsl, many of the leases have clauses protecting how long a well may be shut-in before risking forfeiture of said lease.  However, I don't think Eclipse is in risk of seeking bankruptcy protection.  With the rise in oil prices, the company feels that company is worth more than the value Wall Street is placing on their stock price.  There is new money entering the oil patch and Eclipse would like to channel some of that money to themselves and their shareholders.  Just this past month, PDC closed a deal selling all of their Utica holdings to a recently created LLC called Utica Resource Ventures.  Utica Resource Ventures is headquartered in Houston, TX with a local office in Marietta.  They do not appear to be related to any of the current explorers working in Guernsey County.  Let us hope they have plans to aggressively develop the remainder of PDC's properties.

Utica Resources Dynamite well being drill along Rt. 265 between Lore City and Salesville. drilling 15,000 ft. n.ne. up to the old county home.462 acre unit with 2 wells.

I saw a oilfield worker died on a Oxford rd well.  A pipe rolled on top of him. I bet this is the well it happened at.

That sounds like one of Eclipse's well sites.

looks like it was east of 513. so it could be an ascent wellsite, or Gulfport. Maybe it wasn't a wellsite, but a pipeline accident? very little details in news.

It was the Fineran pad. West of 513, between Rosedale rd and Carlisle rd. I know this because it's my husband's, cousins land.

that's eclipse. they just got permitted to drill more wells there.

They are working down there. Are they going north west under interstate or do you know? That was a big hold up a few years ago.

South,SE down by the Fritz pad.

Oh, ok. Thanks for the info

I have some land in east Madison Twp that I leased to Eclipse.  Anybody heard of plans to drill in that area in the next 6-12 months?
