Have seen a lot more interest lately in those wishing to acquire mineral rights in parts of South east Ohio. Is this due to interest in the Black River formation or some other reason. Getting several a week. Have no interest in selling but curious as to what is prompting this.

Paleface: If the gas companies can follow a fault line that sounds good for capturing oil or natural gas. Can a fault run vertically as well as horizontally? If a fault can run vertically then can it be the cause of a well failure from too much water, for instance? I`m thinking of a vertical fault passing through a Marcellus or Utica Shale layer.
