- It is a very fast-paced multifaceted business where the rules change frequently. Information must be double-checked. In Clearfield county, the speculators have descended like locusts, and sadly, most of the people here really are the proverbial low hanging fruit. We have formed a landowners coalition to negotiate with the gas companies and sent out an Invitation to Bid, got some "Ask us later" replies. Currently we are negotiating the seismic testing permit and even this simple process proved to have intricacies that required researching. Absolutely fascinating!
