"Good Luck CR. With current very low prices for Natural Gas and NGLs, I suspect that the O&G Operators are not only looking at their leases and wells - but also looking at what riches they can find by interpreting/re-interpreting leases. On the…"

cost deductions being removed from royalties

Hello. Our gas was originally leased over 15 years ago and my family received royalties from natural wells according to the amount of gas taken, never having any costs removed. Since Chevron bought the rights, they have begun taking a substantial percentage of our royalties. This is from the Marcellus shale wells. I have a copy of the original lease and it gives no rights to do this. As well, we never signed another lease since then; as I understand the original lease - we have agreed to sell…See More

Know of an attorney who specializes in mineral/gas leases?

Hello. I am in SW Pennsylvania. As the need for landowners to understand the jargon of their leases increases I have understood that there are more attorneys "around" that specialize in mineral/gas rights. Does anyone know where they are? Does anyone know how to find one? Would it be appropriate to ask for the name of one you have used that has been helpful?See More

We inherited a portion of my parent's farm, which has had wells for years. I think it is time to learn more, and a recent issue with the gas company motivated me to begin looking here for answers.
