The simple answer is yes it can be held.
However, depending upon the wording in the lease I believe a case could be made to declare the lease invalid for parcel 2.

Petej: If you accept me as a friend, I may be able to tell you things that I am not comfortable posting to the site. I wish you the best. I think for the moment the offers are rather poor. Hopefully Jim L. is correct and offers will be better if the exploratory wells turn out to be good. Of course the converse could be true also. I wish y0u the very best.
