"Jodi, You are right.  All the Trenton permits are labeled as STRT and the best information I found about STRT is that it is a stratigraphic test.  All the Point Pleasant permits are listed as EDPW and I did not research what EDPW…"

"Jim, My best guess is the Trenton Black River is one of them.  I heard over a year ago that the core samples were rich in oil and of course it was considered proprietary information and the source anonymous.  The seismic…"

"We are in the process of estate planning.  One of the first steps is to get the mineral rights evaluated.  Are there any appraisers qualified to appraise mineral rights for estate planning?  Any information would be helpful."

Unit Size

We are leased with Chesapeake. I have heard that Chesapeake wants a 640-1280 acre drilling unit.  I have also heard that Chesapeake is re-negotiating some leases with 160 acre unit sizes. Will Chesapeake set up a drilling pad on a smaller unit or insist on a 640-1280 unit size?  Has anyone been approached to change their lease to a larger unit?We have a 240 acre family farm and 4 years ago I had included in the addendum of our lease that this farm of 240 acres is a unit and could not be changed…See More
