Sean replied to Lynn Wigglesworth's discussion 'Tax Time' in the group Tioga County, PA
"Hi there, I know you should contact a tax advisor, but how much is lease money taxed on the federeral and state level? Does that need to be mailed in on a quarterly or just at the end of the year? Thanks for any input, Sean"

Ann Ticopa replied to Sean's discussion 'giving to tHe community' in the group Tioga County, PA
"If you are considering doing this as an individual, your best bet might be through your own dentist.  Before Christmas, there were accounts of people going to store lay-away desks and, anonymously, paing off strangers' accounts.   If…"

giving to tHe community

Dear listers, it would be really encouraging to read about what folks are doing with portions of their money to help less fortunate people in our community. I have not yet received a big lease or royalty but I was thinking if I did it would be neat to help get started an outreach to help folks with dental work that cannot afford it in these tough economic times. Our church group gives clothes away every month and I am always pained to see the terrible condition of these peoples teeth! Any…See More

"I see that your moniker is NY Gas Rights. Pa does not have forced unitization (I believe that NY does). Is it possible that the rules you cite are NY rules and not PA rules? I very well could be wrong since I am not a lawyer (as though that's a…"

NY Gas Rights replied to Sean's discussion 'how do you find out who is in a unit?' in the group Lycoming County, PA
"Yes there is law that requires the companies to deal with each other; and there is Contract Law that protects the landowners.  Most people in a unit, or bordering  one, get a notice of water consumptive use required by the SRBC as their…"

NY Gas Rights replied to Sean's discussion 'how do you find out who is in a unit?' in the group Lycoming County, PA
"Wrong Buckingham. If your land is included in a unit AND you have a lease, it makes NO difference where the bore holes are. You are entitled to royalties for every acre included and declared in the unit. You own your mineral rights, but you…"

BuckinghamGasMan replied to Sean's discussion 'how do you find out who is in a unit?' in the group Lycoming County, PA
"Sean,   I'm guessing that the lines go all around you, but not under you. If they don't go under you, I think the law is that they are not extracting your gas. Chief should really have traded your lease with Talisman. Maybe you can…"

FXEF replied to Sean's discussion 'how do you find out who is in a unit?' in the group Lycoming County, PA
"Sean,    If Talisman hold the unit orders and is the operator and Chief owns a lease with in the unit, then Talisman will pay Chief their share and Chief will pay the pooled royalty owners."
