- There are those here in Tioga County that welcome the NG & Crude Oil development. This will provide for better paying jobs and for advancement via merit. However we are concerned about the fact that there is inadequate placarding in place on various vehicles that transport Hazardous Materials (HAZMAT) and/or Hazardous Waste (HAZWASTE) with regard to hydraulic fracturing operations. Please understand; that without adequate placarding oue FIRST RESPONDERS (police officers, firefighters. rescue(EMT) and county HAZMAT team) would be blind sided and therefore at risk. It should be noted that ALL of the (78) chemicals used in the hydraulic fracturing fluid are listed in the Emergency Response Guide Book(ERG); also that (2) of them have HAZWASTE designators assigned to them as well. This information can be supplied on request.
