Does anyone know if gas prices are down?  Royalty checks sure are. Does oil prices and production output go hand in hand? Where can I find this info? Also what causes gas prices to decrease and…Continue

Unit Size or Addition

Is a unit size ever increased? Can you be in more than one unit with the same well?  Just wondering as I have heard yes and no.

"This just shows how political people will lie to the media, convincing them the gas problem is from the deeper drilling.  You have no idea how much economic damage this has done to landowners, with drilling bans in New York etc. all at the…"

"The source of the methane in question is the answer to the question here. One must not confuse methane produced from the  decomposition of organic matter in bodies of water with the methane released from geologic formations.  "

How long to drill a well

The gas co, knows where they want to put the well on our property. How long does it usually take them from start to finish. I know every situation is different but would like a good guessestimate. Thanks.

"Given the typical situation in Susq. County that I've observed, figure about 3-4 weeks for pad preparation, a few weeks to drill the vertical portion, 3-6 weeks for the horizontal depending on the length, a few weeks to bring in the water for…"

"Read your Lease!! Likely you have already agreed to the pipeline - so long as it is for your Production Unit to get the Gas, for which you get Royalty, to market."

Pipeline on land

Currently I have a mineral lease with Chesapeke and now they are walking the land to see how to run a pipe line through it. Do I get paid extra if the pipeline is allowed and does anyone have any idea how much?

"Jim is correct. The price you receive is completely dependent on your lease contract with the operator and / or the sales contract the operator has with the purchaser of the gas. Many royalty lease agreements today specify whether or not you will…"
