"Say YES to Marcellus, Stop the Frackin' Lies" Rally

... Because Enough Really is ENOUGH!!

They're Spreading Lies!

On Monday, January 25, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. various extremist groups will converge at the West Side of the New York State Capitol in Albany, to rally AGAINST natural gas exploration. These groups have continued to spread lies and outrageous accusations about the exploration of natural gas in New York's Marcellus Shale, and now they're going to Albany to try and convince lawmakers with their tall tales to stop drilling Marcellus before it even starts.

Come Rally for the Truth!!

To ensure state lawmakers, the public and the media know the truth about natural gas exploration and the enormous opportunity for new jobs and clean energy, the Independent Oil and Gas Association (IOGA) of New York, in collaboration with the Landowner Coalitions from across New York, is hosting:

THE "SAY YES TO MARCELLUS, STOP THE FRACKIN' LIES" RALLY

To help combat the deceptive accusations of the extremists, our Rally will also be held on Monday, January 25, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. in Albany, on the East Side of the New York State Capitol. Our opponents are expecting a crowd; and our numbers need to be DOUBLE! IOGA, the landowners' coalition and various other groups are joining together by the BUSLOADS to let New Yorkers know the truth about natural gas exploration.

SPREAD THE TRUTH ABOUT NATURAL GAS

Details of the event are as follows:

WHO: Advocates for National Gas Exploration

WHAT: Say YES to Marcellus, Stop the Frackin' Lies Rally

WHERE: Monday, January 25, 2010

WHEN: 10:00 a.m.

NOTES: There will be buses leaving from various locations across the state. For more information and to "Join the Bus" please respond to this email, or call 518-432-9087.

Don't let them overwhelm Albany lawmakers! - Our voices have to be heard!

Facts Vs. Fiction

As you know, while natural gas exploration has been conducted safely in New York for decades, the public and lawmakers have been misinformed repeatedly by these extremist groups -- whose agenda is only to spread rumors and false information against new exploration. It is outrageous, uncalled for, and dangerous to the potential economic opportunities that are so needed, especially for those regions of our State that are economically deprived.

David --

I don't know all of the details -- I know they've expanded since I posted. Call 518-432-9087 -- someone there shoudl know th latest. Glad to hear you or some folks you know might attend. The other sde of the coin on this debate really needs to be heard. It means a lot to people who need jobs and people looking to defend their property rights. My company drills in PA, and I can tell you, I see the benefits everyday. In fact, there's a farm on my way to work that has built two new barns in the last six months. No doubt from the three wells (which aren't even Marcellus well) drilled on his property in the last year.

Do we know if there will be any speakers? and if so who? I really want to learn more. It's really short notice but I think I can make the rally. Where are the buses leaving? I'm near Binghamton but I have some friends in other parts of the Southern Tier who might be interested in attending

I hope that we'll see a big turnout. I think there are more people in NY looking to develop the Shale than not

Good luck!
Too much "can't do" attitude in America these days and it is killing our economy. It starts in Washington and works its way down to the state and local level. We are the most technologically advanced country in the world and we have the ability to carefully and safely extract these gas assets without destroying the environment. If you happen to get a lawmaker's ear, mention how much potential tax revenue the gas represents for the State of NY and you'll have their undivided attention!
