Tim, where did you get the 20K acres in Lawrence I heard it was a great deal less

GLS is working for Cimarex Energy out of Denver Co. No one knows exactly what they are looking for but they had run some samples from the KGS which would indicate deep exploration in the Rome, Rogersville Shale and or Maryville Limestone.

Also a possibility they are looking at the Point Pleasant and or Logana as there is a thick zone of Point Pleasant greater than 150' thick which comes in from WV between the NW Boundary Fault of the Trough and Fallsburg Ky. Should know more about this when the New Utica Study is released at the end of 2013.

Rumor has it that Nytis was trying to trade some deep mineral acreage for some of the shallow section in the Cimarex leases & heard Cimarex was last paying $125 an acre.

If they drill below the Knox, the minimum unit will probably be 574 acres since it is deeper than 7000'.

Anyone know anything about Lawrence County Investments, Salyersville, KY? I believe this group already owns outright several hundred acres in Lawrence County; and just recently, they purchased from Gas Acquisition Corp certain existing gas leases that lie on Little Blain Cr. I was informed of this by letter from the company's Salyersville office, and that there are plans for a number of new wells to be drilled this summer and that shut-in wells are under review to determine disposition.

Any information worth sharing?

Thank you.  I appreciate the opportunity to participate.

Tim, now hearing 35K acres not sure how many are GOOD as far as title goes also here is a copy of the

Horizontal Oil Play,

Eastern Kentucky

We have been approached by a company called Fireborn Energy. Don't know anything about them. Supposedly they  are connected with Cimarex.

Cimarex chief Geologist participated in a Rogersville conference this weekend .

What did he have to say about the play?

I've been getting offers to lease for the past 3 years in Wayne County WV. They have been offering $80 an acre which is too low for the Rome Trough.

Below is the link to the Kentucky Minerals Brochure which describes the oil and gas plays in the Rome Trough.

On pages 11 through 13, read all of section 3.4 Appalachian Basin Province In Eastern Kentucky, which describes the 16 oil and gas plays in the Rome Trough portion of Kentucky.

The Rome Trough cuts across TN, KY, WV, PA, NY and Canada. It's the richest Hydro Carbon deposit in the nation, and possibly in the world as I have heard, due to the fact an ancient ocean has always formed in the Rome Trough.

Do a search for a map of the Rome Trough on the internet to find the States and Counties the Rome Trough is located in. Kentucky: Pike County; WV: Wayne, Lincoln, Boone and North East across WV into Greene County PA. The Rome Trough is deep at around 24,000 feet which is where the drillers are now moving into in Ohio to tap into the Point Pleasant formation.

The Kitchen Table oil companies have probably leased a lot of Kentucky by now. Landowners have gotten use to leasing their minerals for a small amount per acre for 10 years with no drilling. Horizontal Drilling will be more productive and most will be held by production or just not released at the end of the lease period. Yes, they sometimes do what they want to you.

A few years down the road you'll be telling us to trust no one when dealing in oil and gas.
