Lease Offers in Harrison County

This webpage is a little over a year old. During this time frame oil and gas leasing
offers have increased significantly.

As of November 8, 2011 the signing bonus has increased to $5350-$5800 with the royalty percentage at 20 % gross. Leases are being signed by several companies. The best lease terms are being realized by the landowner groups that offer their acreage through a competitive bidding process. I personally believe the money offers will continue to increase with time. The highest offers occur when landowners pool their land into contiguous units.

Presumably, all are aware that Chesapeake recently leveraged 25% of their leaseholds in

Eastern Ohio for $15,000 per acre by forming a JV with an undisclosed oil major.

Any possible way to verify that offer?  Carrizo was doing 4250 and 17.5 in hopedale last week.  Have not heard of CHK budging from 3750 and 17.5.  Please let us know if you can confirm that.

Don't forget that the winning combination is High Bonus + High Royalty + Superior Lease Terms, and for the long term, the priority is in the reverse order from that.

Gerald, please read the preface to this thread. There are also comments from individuals who have signed leases and posted the details throughout this thread that also provide specific names and numbers.

Gerard, Both F&M Ohio Valley Landowners Group and The Associated Landowners of the Ohio Valley had large numbers of members from Harrison county. F&M signed for $2700/Acre and 17.5% gross Royalty. ALOV signed for $2250 and 17.5%.

We are signed sealed and delivered with CHK....We received our bonus check on 07/20/2011....Nathan Vaughan of KWGD in New Philadelphia handled everything to perfection. We have an outstanding lease that they draft in house with all the advantages we sought....CHK paid our legal fees by virtue of the fact that we received $2362.50 gross per acre and netted $2250 with a GROSS 17.5% royalty.....now let the royalty checks begin....our acreage is only about 1 1/2 mile from the Sportsman Club well and about 2 mile from the Buell Well

signed on 04/29/11 and got the check on 07/20/11

 A friend told me that in yesterdays Harrison news herald that an O&G company would be in Cadiz today through wednesday. They would be signing all Harrison county landowners at $4250/acre and 17.5%. Does anyone have any info on who they are and are working for.

I would guess that if that is true, it would be on there lease terms with very little owner protection, be careful what you sign, and also a long lead time till you would see any check.
