Homer's information proves itself correct again. 10 rigs drilling 50 wells a year. Real close to what he told me: approx. 2 months per well per rig allowing a little buffer for delays.
Let's hope so Glenn.
Totally mind boggling!  Never seen a local boom like this ,ever.  This area is on its way to being a powerhouse.  Notice how ten counties are mentioned.
This play is still laregly undeveloped. Like the Marcellus it could dry and or if the govenment in Ohio taxes are too steep. Way to early to suggest a boom yet. Don't count your chickens just yet.

Awesome news for those lucky souls in Ohio! Wonder how far north they are talking pertaining to these 10 counties? Maybe Columbiana & Mahoning ? Mind boggling considering Lawrence County Pa only has 1 Utica Well so far that I know of.

They are already drilling in northern Mahoning County and look to be doing so in Trumbull soon.
Brett, are you saying there are more than two rigs in Mahoning?
pad near completion on calla in mahoning county
How long is a permit good for? Are they 1yr. or what?
In Pa for horizontal Marcellus wells they are good for 1 year, and they can get an extension or a reissue to drill deeper. The marcellus permits are much more costly then for the traditional vertical well. I know because of the wells they are drilling in my unit.  It seems that they only go for permits if they are seriously drilling wells at least that is what EQT is doing.
Thanks Little Cougar !
