Has anyone else had this happen? The title to my property had no deficits (according to the Cambridge Office). I called Amegy bank today to see when the check would be sent and I was told that it was “cancelled per land department directive”.
I called Shell in Cambridge and they have no idea what is going on. Any thoughts?

I see that your lease expired on April 20th..... I am not sure why you think this is a bad deal... I have been told that they have a backlog and that they are waiting until the last day to cut the check. Have you called Amergy?
Permalink Reply by Mark Thompson on April 24, 2012 at 10:42am I totally agree you should have been paid by now....I would call Amegy bank to see if they paid the draft. I would contact your landman from shell and ask him to make some calls and find out the status of your lease. Can you let us know how this process goes? My draft expires May 15th, and I would like to know what to expect...I know there are a lot of others holding these drafts. Again, I was told to expect a check to go to my bank via us mail within 10 days of the expiration of the draft.
Permalink Reply by bo boboski on April 24, 2012 at 8:57am You could wait 10 days, or get a release & sign with someone else & wait another 5/6 months. I still think if you wait a year, you could sign for much more! The wells that are close & coming online are called "prolific"

AboutWhat makes this site so great? Well, I think it's the fact that, quite frankly, we all have a lot at stake in this thing they call shale. But beyond that, this site is made up of individuals who have worked hard for that little yard we call home. Or, that farm on which blood, sweat and tears have fallen. [ Read More ] |
