Jodi that was a vetical well with less of a formation fracked than the ones that were horozontal!
The Trempealeau and Rose Run have been producing a lot of oil out that way for decades. There was a mini boom in Morrow county in the 60's. Oil in the Trempealeau or Rose Run is indicative of nothing more than oil in the Trempealeau or Rose Run.
FYI to anyone interested - Morrow County landowner meeting on 4/26/12 @ Mount Gilead H.S. - 7:00pm. Someone from ODNR will be speaking. This is NOT a Dan Plumley represented group, so it offers a different view from their hired reps as to what the future may hold. Went to a meeting several months ago and they were throwing out some big numbers ($$$).
meeting is at cardington h.s. - not mount gilead - 7p
Hey Jodi let us all know! lol
billy - no problem sending my replies to others. i believe muskingum was shown in their liquid gas window, which was also very thin, but i'm speculating that both of these windows were only showing the area that they are planning to concentrate on. it was a little curious though that they showed nothing west of knox.
one other morrow county nugget - 11 million barrels of oil were cultivated during the 60's oil boom in morrow cty, which probably all migrated originally from the utica shale layer to other layers(tough to wrap my tiny brain around that one - a little help please marcus!)
Chris Perry from ODNR gave a PP presentation. Here's the highlights from him as well as the group's leader:
ty Scott for the info , did ya happen to see where Muskingum was at in the Picture? and ya mind if I copy and paste your info into the Licking / Muskingum county Group?
By the production of that well which was a vertical I wonder what the production would have been had it been a horizontal, more formation penetrated should = more oil correct?
This is one of those times when it pays people to be VERY skeptical. We are in eastern ohio, leased with chesapeake in december for a very pleasant amount after joining ALOV. It could have been a totally different outcome since we were approached a year and a half before that by a landman who offered $100 an acre for all mineral rights. First thing I did was research his company (internet is handy that way), came to the conclusion that if they wanted the rights they wanted them because they could make a profit on them.

AboutWhat makes this site so great? Well, I think it's the fact that, quite frankly, we all have a lot at stake in this thing they call shale. But beyond that, this site is made up of individuals who have worked hard for that little yard we call home. Or, that farm on which blood, sweat and tears have fallen. [ Read More ] |
