Has anyone else had this happen? The title to my property had no deficits (according to the Cambridge Office). I called Amegy bank today to see when the check would be sent and I was told that it was “cancelled per land department directive”.

I called Shell in Cambridge and they have no idea what is going on. Any thoughts?

FYI.  My in-law s from Kimbolton, got their check today from Shell Oil. in was in their mailbox!  5 days after their bank draft expired.  other's have called. were told if their lease was recorded, they would be paid!

Bo,

How many acres does your In-laws have?

10 acres.  dont think the amouny of acreage has anything to do with why his $$$ came thru. heard someone got a check for$900,000. I'm thinking there is no system,or criteria used to get people paid.  not acreage,or location,or time of signing alfabetical, ,or anything other than where your lease is located in the stack @ holland Land service . Some people are getyting rejection letters who are south of I-70. Shell must have decided where they want their production units,& are getting those leases paid . Sounds like we need to just be patient & wait for either a check or a rejection letter.

I have talked to someone out of Texas and they say we will be paid as long as everything comes back okay with the deed but they have no idea when. The people at Holland said they have never experienced a company like shell that been this far behind. I also spoke to the manager at my bank and as of last week checks and drafts started coming in so fingers crossed we all recieve ours.

Do you have a contact number for the Texas Office?   Do they have information on leases signed in Ohio and Pa?  It sounds like shell is paying the leases, just slow at it.

The number is at home but I can get it for you it is Hollands Office that is based out of Texas. After speaking with a couple other people though that have or do work in this industry alot of the problem is in our recorders office because it is not easily accessible and takes much longer as long as your lease is recorded you should be getting paid.

Have you tried calling Amega and seeing what they say? When I called all I was told was that my draft had expired and so far a new one has not been issued

Is Shell telling people that if lease is recorded it will be paid?

That is what the person at Holland out of Texas told me he said he also had something that showed mine was good to pay the question was when Shell would pay. My draft was also cancelled because it went over the 120 days so now it is just a waiting game

Anyone had the bank send back their actual draft to them?  Mine came back today...With a nice $30 returned fee taken straight out of my account...just like the check from Shell should have went in...Must just be my application fee for Holland/Shell... THANKS AGAIN! WE'RE ALL STILL WAITING! :)

That would irritate me even more! I am tired of this and no one having answers it seems like when you call Holland and try to talk to Bruce they screen his calls and take a message and he has never called me back yet.

Heard that some landowners have been told  that Shell instructed them to red flag all parcels under 10 acres. not to process them! Maybe they think if they lease all the big parcels & get 80/90% of the land around these little guys, that they can forcepool these into their units for less or no bonus $$$ and less percentage on the royalties? May come later & offer like $3000. & 15%. take or leave it. just sayin.
