Hey Billy,
I got your voice message.
Yes, we are having our meeting this Thursday at Tri Valley HS, 7-9 PM. Our group is still accepting new members so yes the public is invited. Technically our group is centered in the Southwest Coshocton and NW Muskingum Counties, but if you are close then you would be eligible to join. We hope to explain all this at the meeting, so hope you can attend.
Thanks
Jere

Bernie,
Is Laurel Resources Ohio a DRILLER or a FLIPPER ?
Thanks guys! Sounds like I should join a group.
Bernie there are pro and cons in joining a group as well. There is a ton of info on this site upon leases, in what to try to avoid to what you may want in a lease. My two cents worth is to try and learn as much as you can FIRST before doing anything and then only after you have your oil and gas attorney look it over before hand.
Bernie,
Check out the Southwest Coshocton Landowners Association.
Meets June 7th in Dresden.
Negotiator is Jim Milleson.
The group's acreage is currently being marketed to interested drillers.
Probably a flipper! I'll be at the meeting on June 7.
Thanks,
Bernie,
Please, contact your neighbors and try to have them attend the meeting, too. Drillers will pay us more $ per acre for highly contiguous acres. The last thing any landowners group wants to do is lease 15,000 acres of un-connected parcels to a driller. That leaves allot of work for the Driller to do before they can start drilling and making profits. The driller prefers 640 acres to 1280 acres of contiguous land to construct the pad and to start drilling wells.
Bernie hopefully your not replying to Uticas post about the Southwest Coshocton Landowners Association. Land owner groups collectively for the most part attempt to market their membership acres (for the highest lease bonus, royalty and land owner friendly lease) to a known company that will drill.
Flippers on the other hand would be acquiring leases as cheap as possible then flipping the lease
Billy,
I think Bernie was replying to my previous post where I asked ...
"... Is Laurel Resources Ohio a Driller or a Flipper ? ..."
You are correct, SCLA will only deal directly with O&G Drillers.
Here is another LOG that is operating in the area. I am not promoting this group over another but it gives you options and a chance to compare as well. Billy

No-Obligation, regular informative meetings are the key to empower landowners. They are the launching pad that will help send our returns souring. Make sure to bring an interested family member or neighbor when you attend next. There is nothing to lose and everything to gain. If you are already part of another group, we still encourage you to check us out and learn.
Meetings are held in the meeting area of the Woodbury Outfitters retail store at 793 S. 2nd Street, Coshocton Ohio, 43812.
From their website -- "The ULGCM is a joint effort by local business owners, attorneys and landowners to enhance the bargaining power of local resource holders in the wake of exciting local resource discoveries in the Utica shale formation. These group leaders have experience and a proven track record of success in closing above average sign on bonuses and very significant royalties for their members. Group leaders include: Joe Miller, owner of Woodbury Outfitters, Chuck Bell, Bruce H. Seabright II, Ed Sustersic, and Tony Unger.
The group’s efforts are focused primarily in presenting local landowners with must-have information that will prevent the possible loss of thousands of dollars per acre in exchange for their resources. This loss occurs primarily when landowners are presented with what appears to be large sums of money for their resources but have little experience or knowledge in avoiding on-sided agreements with outside interests. The temptation to be pressured into a hasty decision for what looks like a great deal is what the ULGCM is hoping to help Coshocton Landowners to avoid. Valuable information, tested experience and a group effort can help raise the returns substantially when dealing with the savvy Big Oil Interests.
To keep landowners informed at no obligation is the most useful service the ULGCM offers to local landowners. Forming a large united group before the large oil and gas companies is the first step in the ultimate goal of receiving top-dollar payment for Utica shale formation resources. The proven track record of our experienced team makes our group stand out at having the best return on resource leasing options.
Thank you for your interest in our group. Please make sure to attend our up-coming meetings to keep in-touch. If you have provided and email address, we will send you out a newsletter as well to keep you up to date. Sign up for our email newsletters here

AboutWhat makes this site so great? Well, I think it's the fact that, quite frankly, we all have a lot at stake in this thing they call shale. But beyond that, this site is made up of individuals who have worked hard for that little yard we call home. Or, that farm on which blood, sweat and tears have fallen. [ Read More ] |
