Has anyone else had this happen? The title to my property had no deficits (according to the Cambridge Office). I called Amegy bank today to see when the check would be sent and I was told that it was “cancelled per land department directive”.

I called Shell in Cambridge and they have no idea what is going on. Any thoughts?

Can't they just walk away because "they" (remember it's SWEPI, not Shell per se that was on the lease) didn't actually sign a thing? The only signatures at the "signing" were ourselves and the notaries. Just sayin'
Feel like a dope/dupe.

Identified nine so far "Out of Interest Area" . Attempting to get as much info as I can from remaining. Some were title problems. Think this becomes mote problem though as some who have already been paid also had title problems identified then given extensions and assistance with clearing same.  All these individuals were signed up with the group. They just did not receive any representation from anyone.

Out of interest area is not an acceptable excuse and suggests there were no title problems with those nine people. Unless you are talking about a different group of people. The best thing to do is for people to get on a common dislist so they can figure those things out. I sent you a friend request. Can you send me a private message with your email address?

Maybe that bodes well for you, Cindy. When I checked at the recorder's office, they hadn't even recorded our lease...

I went and picked up a copy of mine today where they recorded the lease back in November I am going to try and find the number for shell/swepi from the address they have listed in Pa

Some people got letters yesterday saying anybody who was in the Group was going to get paid by Shell so long as title clears - that the "out of interest area" thing is no excuse. Remains to be seen if that will happen, but it seems like the first acknowledgement of what I suspected all along, that Shell is trying to break with lease without justification under its terms, Shell knows it is doing exactly that, and Shell is starting to feel the heat.

Why bother to drill an 8 million $$$ well so that you can hold  that land by production when all you gotta do is sign up the landowners, record the leases, then hold on to the rights without paying a dime for however long the landowner is willing to let you slide? A whole year? maybe longer?  Just keep coming up with excuses to extend  the time as far as the dumb smuck will tolerate!       really?

On the odnr site ,they have a list that shows all the o&g players who have leases in ohio, along with the amount of acreage & wells & permits, etc. Cheasapeake being on top with the most. they are all on the list except for Shell, or Swepi.  I know for a fact that they recorded a gang of leases here in guernsey co. maybe 100,00 acres!  Can anyone tell me why their name is not on the odnr list of lease holders? Has not the recorder's office sent them the info? Is it their job to? Holland? Why would'nt Shell want their name on that list?  If you did'nt know any better, you would'nt even think they are a player.

Heard it from a freind, who heard it from a freind, who went to Holland services, who said the new order from Shell is to pay everyone still waiting, regardless of acreage amount, only thing is; No time table.  They have budgeted more$$$ now for this play.  Must follow the budget. 2 weeks ago, they had no more $$$ budgeted for this area.  go figure.  Good news/ bad news, you make the call!

My 1st post was in April when Shell cancelled my payment. Monday I got a call from Texas saying that there was a problem with my lease and that I would have to sign an amendment to the lease and they would get back to me in two weeks. To my surprise I got a call from Holland in Cambridge telling me that my amendment was ready to sign. I went up to Holland and all of the paper work was ready-the problem with my marital status and they had transposed the lot numbers. I walked out with a new bank draft (45 days) the guy also told me that it would be direct deposit, which was I was told in Oct., Shell released the funds on Wednesdays and to check the bank on Fridays beginning next week.

I’m still skeptical, I won’t believe it until I see money in the bank.

My sister also signed with Shell/Holland and has not heard anything. Would you happened to have the address and phone contact available ? Thanks in advance.

Update On our pymt. I received a call from Shell, mineral rights for many tracts of land has been challenged by Akron Coal Company via affadavi which was filed. They are challenging back to the rights reserved in the 1800's. we received a call yesterday from Carrizo wanting to buy our lease and they indicated a tract nxt to us had the same Akron Coal Company issue. Shell said they are working to see how long they could hold. I know Rigby family (Rigby mine) worked the coal under our property because my dad worked for them. Anyone have
any thoughts. Shell said this applys to a lot of land.
