Very interesting article.  Sounds like they are trying to acquire additional acreage.  Does anyone know what townships they are interested in?  Also, Does anyone have a contact for Antero?

Number was still good.  I think they answered as Turner Oil and Gas, but they were representing Antero.  I only spoke to an admin, but she did confirm that there was a meeting at Union Local on thursday night.

Not able to say what townships they were interested in.

Thanks for the number Donna!

Anybody have feedback from the meeting at Union Local? Did it occur?

The one last Thursday did occur. The representative of the for-profit Utica Landowners LLC organization gushed about a board member from Smith-Goshen who was in attendance in a lame attempt to hitch Utica's train to Smith-Goshen's. I believe this was done to try and pick off some S-G members by making it appear that S-G was a party to the Utica Landowners LLC for-profit organization which they are NOT. It was a rotten trick and he should be ashamed of himself for doing it. S-G has always been a Landowner Non-Profit organization and they only profits involved are for each landowner from the eventual lease they choose to sign.

The next day, another opportunist from another for-profit organization (Global Shale) who hijacked the S-G mailing list sent out an email to the S-G group addressing them as though they were to be part of the Utica Landowners LLC signing. Problem is, much of the S-G group is in Belmont townships that are not part of the Antero offer through Utica Landowners.

Finnbear,

Why doesn't this surprise me?!?  Thanks for the update.

Finnbear,

What is the current status of the S-G group? It's been several months since I've seen any postings concerning them. Has there been a lease deal finalized or is one imminent?

Incidentally, I'm a Belmont County landowner with property not leased nor committed to any group. Hence my interest. The Antero deal with Barnesville seems likely to increase leasing interest. I'm anxiously awaiting results of the GPOR Shugert wells near Barnesville. GPOR's comment about results from one fracking zone of one well was a real tease!

S-G Group has a meeting tonite.

There is a Smith-Goshen meeting tonight at Union Local Middle School.

F.N. & Finnbear,

Looks like my inquiry was timely! I hope you will post a summary of non-confidential info you glean from the meeting. Maybe a lease deal with $7500/acre bonus and 25% gross royalty is imminent!!!

I was unable to make the 2 hour trip down to the meeting due to prior commitments so I'm hoping someone who was there will summarize also. I'm sure the group will send out an email update tomorrow but I'd also like to hear from someone who was there.

I was at the meeting.  The only significant news was that there was no deal yet.  Larry Cain sent out a summary that pretty well covered what was discussed.  Mostly, there was a lot of criticism of the Utica Landowners LLC deal and their efforts to pick off S-G group members.  Attendance was way down from last meeting I attended (months ago).

Where is the 1000 acre site located?
