I've been following this for awhile and trying to see a flare up close. I've only seen pics so far. Anyone here know where I can see a flare in Western Pa or Eastern Ohio, or even extreme northern WVA?

I would really love to see a double or triple flare. That would be awesome! All replies appreciated.

Double flare just east of Slippery Rock, PA

Copy this Lat. &  Long. into Google Maps.     41.083201,-79.920344    The  satalite photo is recent enough you can actually see the drill site.

Been flaring for over a month now. This is one of Shell's sites. You can see the orange glow in the sky from over 5 miles away.

Thanks :)

Devon  has been flaring the Hershberger well in wayne county just south of Apple Creek on Buss road for the last two weeks. It was still burning Thanksgiving afternoon.

Ken

Is it a double flare?

single

Are there photos posted on this site for flares?  I've seen some such photos, but haven't yet found a way to correlate them to the text postings of which wells are flaring. How about public posting on Google Earth?

If you can see and get a photo of a flaring well, please try to adjust your viewing and lens angles to include an object of known size (e.g. a storage container, pickup truck, etc.) near the flare.  This is probably best done shortly before dark, in preference to after dark.  With this kind of photo, some kind of estimate of flow rates may be possible.
