Does anyone know if Shell is going to do any drilling in 2013

James, given Shell's aggressive drilling activity in Northwest PA, are you seeing (or hearing of) increasing leasing action in Warren County?

Shell leased a few parcels in Venango in December on and around the high pressure TV line that runs through. National Fuel is using the same line in their well of 36 in not that far away. My guess is that would be a perfect location for a test well.

If anyone feels that Shell is going to drill, I am selling 10 net mineral acres of my royalty rights in Clearfield.  Shell holds the lease and I am asking for $3500 per acre.  There is a 12.5% royalty and no deductions.  I own a total of 50 NMA and looking to sell 10 or less.  I can't wait any longer since I need the cash now.  I been told one acre can worth well over $50k when they drill a well!

LOL

Please forward the person's information that is valuing one drilled acre at $50k....I have a car, house, and motorcycle that I do believe I would like to put on the market with his or her assistance.  (And who says the hype machine is dead?)

You can find the Penn State royalty calculator on the internet.  You can find the production numbers from the DEP.  If you need help with understanding the numbers, please connect with me on this site.  I know these numbers are real since I already have a well in Greene County. This issue you can run into is if all the acres in a unit are not frac or some of the acres are not put into a unit.

Another issue is the dreaded dry hole, eh?

From my understanding there are no dry holes, but there are a few that don't produce because they were drilled incorrectly.  I think the offset to that is that there is more than one shale play in the acre of land.

What occurred TODAY at the Shell lease signing meeting in Samdy Lake, Mercer County, Pa.? Was it really a lease signing meeting? Who were the invitees? If it was a lease signing, what were the terms? I know nothing about this except what Elnathan Cory posted on the Mercer County Comment Wall. Thanks, Elnathan for posting what you know. Per Elnathan, this meeting apparently continues tomorrow morning.Surely somebody out there went to the meeting and knows something??!!

See Mercer County Comment Wall (comment by James) for Shell's offer concerning certain areas it wishes to lease in Mercer County. Royalty percentage not extremely robust nor the percentage royalty. BUT,Shell is a big BIG player with the ability to fully develop their leaseholds and fund by themselves or with others any necessary infrastructure!  I do not know how many acres they are offering on, but I remind all of you that they entered into a joint venture with Vista in September 2012 by which they acquired Vista's interest in the deep gas strata for all properties that Vista held  leases on in Mercer County. I  hope others who have firsthand information can provide more details on their current ongoing attempts to lease further acreage in Mercer County.!

I meant to say in my last post royalty percentage not particularly robust, nor the bonus money per acre.. I apologize for the error. I think better than I type!

How many acres do you have for lease?
