Landowner group active in Berlin Center, OH ? Seismic testing permit

We've been approached to sign a permit to conduct seismic testing by Front Runner Seismic inc.

But, we are not part of a Land owners group.  Does anyone know if there is a group we could talk too?

We have been approached last year but never followed up.  Is it still possible to lease our mineral rights ?

Any thoughts or direction/input would be greatly appreciated. TY

Can I confirm that I have the rights to my minerals and if so how?

RE: “We've been approached to sign a permit to conduct seismic testing by Front Runner Seismic Inc.”

Here is Front Runner Seismic’s website:  http://frseismic.com/index.php

From what they state in their website, they do not collect seismic data; instead, they obtain permits and/or provide surveying and/or line cutting for seismic contractors. They appear to be acting as an agent of a seismic data acquisition contractor.

At this point in time Front Runner Seismic are acting as an intermediary. I would suggest that you find out which seismic contractor they are working for (as a sub-contractor), you should determine who they are representing. I would likewise suggest that you find out the exact extent and nature of the intended seismic survey (2D?, 3D?).

RE: “Can I confirm that I have the rights to my minerals and if so how?”

This information should be discernible from the language contained in the deed to your property.

RE: “Is it still possible to lease our mineral rights?”

If you determine that you own your mineral rights, and they are not already leased – then you should be able to lease the mineral rights.

Thanks Friend !  I know it's 3 D.  But will check out the deed -  thanks for pointing me in the right direction :)

If you need assistance in sorting out the language in your property deed, a local licensed Real Estate Agent should be able to make a quick determination.

Once you know the name of the Seismic Data Acquisition Contractor. I would suggest that you post the name of that contractor here, In the past, individuals have had good experiences with some - not so good with others. Someone may be able to comment.

All IMHO,
